HOW TO TURN YOUR LAPTOP INTO A WIFI HOTSPOT

Here is a simple step to follow if you want to share your laptop internet connection with other wifi devices using microsoft hostednetwork

Note: not all laptop support this method...... To check if you laptop support this method follow this step

1. Open COMMAND PROMPT as an administrator

2. Type in the following command netsh wlan show drivers.. This is to test if your wireless card support it. you will get a screen like this

To know if your laptop supports it check for this


if yes thats means its supported and you can proceed with the rest of the tuturial...But if no, there are lots of software that can enable you share your internet

3. Next type in netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=techeda key=techeda1 Note:ssid means the name you want the network to display and key means your password which must be a minimum of eight characters

4. To start the created network type netsh wlan start hostednetwork... This will start the hostednetwork and any wifi device will be able to see and connect to it

Now we have to share internet to the hosted network so we could access the internet with it. to do that,

5. Open network and sharing center.. and you should your newly created network

6. Click on the source connection (the connection with access to internet)
